FAQs

Here are some of our most frequently asked questions. We will be constantly updating this page.

1. Can I fill in for another team and play 2 games in one weekend?
You can fill in for another Subiaco Team but only to avoid a forfeit. However, it must be a higher grade than you are already playing and you can only play 4 games total in a higher grade before permanently moving up to that grade.

2. What if I have a question throughout the season who do I contact?

3. How do I request a bye or forfeit?
If a whole team cannot play you can request a bye – but Hawks cannot guarantee and some grades have even teams and have no byes for the season. The only answer is  to forfeit. To request a bye or forfeit please send an email to communications@subiacobbc.com.au

4. How do I request a change in time for a game?
Managers can request a change in time but can not be guaranteed as it is a real effort to fixture the full competition and causes issues for courts, umpires etc when changes requested and often requests can not be accommodated. To request a change in time please send an email to communications@subiacobbc.com.au

5. I have said I will be a coach, but I need some help, where can I get it?
This website provides details, click Information > Coaching Resources, there is usually a free Coaches Clinic held early February.

6. What days and times are we playing?
For each grading day, the schedule will come out a day or so before the day. For the first half of the season, fixtures are released weekly whilst teams are moved to the appropriate grades. Times will change each week but generally, are as follows, but this may change:

U8 Miniball Boys and Girls  – scheduled to play on Tuesday afternoons over 2 timeslots.
U10 Miniball Girls   – scheduled to play on Friday afternoon/evening
U10/12 Boys             – scheduled to play on Saturday morning. There may be occasional Friday evening games. Some U12 games will be played at Lords
U12 Girls                    – scheduled to play on Saturday afternoons
U14/16/18 Boys       – scheduled to play on Saturdays. The younger grades play in the morning and the older grades in the afternoon
U 14/U16 Girls          – scheduled to play Friday afternoon/evenings
U18 Girls                    – scheduled to play Friday afternoon/evenings

7. What does the Team Manager do?
It’s easy! You are the contact between the coach/club and the players. It involves:

8. Scoring
All parents are expected to help score throughout the season. Every team does it on a roster system, your Team Manager usually does a roster and they will send it around to advise when you are scoring.

If you are away then please swap your scoring roster with another parent.

9. Where do I get my uniform from?
You will be given a singlet by your team manager. Subiaco shorts are available from our uniform officer. You can purchase online, go to Information > Uniforms. We normally sell them at the beginning of each season and notify all club members by email.

10. What age group should my child/our team be playing in?

11. When do registrations open?
It depends on what age group your team/child is in. You can find out via this website. Click Registration > Registration Dates.
