Team Grading Guide
Team Grading Guide
To register as a team, we need to nominate the team in a grade.
As a general guide, the strongest player level and the higher levels are usually the older players in school year 2. (EG, grade A and B for U12 boys are those in school year 6; grade C and D would be teams where players are in school year 5).
If you have a strong bottom age team place them in a level higher and likewise lower with a particularly less skilled top age team.
If teams have had a change in players, consider the experience of the incoming players and the experience of those who have left, decide whether or not the strength of the team has been affected and adjust accordingly.
The number of WABL players included in a team will also affect their grade. If you have multiple WABL players, you should be nominating in a higher grade.
The way Hawks will set up team’s grades/divisions is outlined below.
M and F is used to define the gender of the grade/division while A, B, C, D is used for the define the skill/level of the grade/division.
- U8M / U8F
- MBM / MBF
- U10M / U10F
- U12M / U12F
- U14M / U14F
- U16M / U16F
- U18M / U18F
In the likely event that a grade/division has too many teams, Hawks will create multiple pools for that grade/division after team nominations have closed. This is indicated by a number following the grade/division. An example of this would be if U12M B had 18 teams, which would turn into U12M B1 and U12M B2, both with 9 teams. Both these grades/divisions are in B grade and have no skill difference.
